Terms and Conditions of Use
Last updated: November 3, 2026
These Terms and Conditions (the "Terms") are a binding agreement between you and Assistive Communication, LLC, a Delaware limited liability company ("Cfluent", "we", "us" or "our"). They govern your access to and use of the Cfluent application on web, desktop, iOS and Android and the website www.cfluent.io (together, the "Service").
By creating an account, signing in or otherwise using the Service you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
1. The Service
Cfluent is an AI-powered augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) tool that listens to conversation context and suggests replies that you can speak aloud with a text-to-speech voice. Features, languages and voices may change over time.
Cfluent is a communication aid. It is not a medical device and does not provide medical, therapeutic or emergency services, and it must not be relied upon in situations where an error could endanger health or safety.
2. Eligibility and accounts
You must be at least 18 years old (or the age of majority where you live) to create an account. Minors may use Cfluent only under the supervision of, and with an account created and managed by, a parent or legal guardian who accepts these Terms on their behalf. Caregivers and professionals who set up an account for another person confirm that they are authorized to do so.
You sign in with Google, Microsoft or Apple. You are responsible for the security of that account and for all activity under your Cfluent account. Provide accurate information and tell us promptly of any unauthorized use.
3. Free trial, subscriptions and payments
New accounts receive a free trial of 7 days, with no payment required upfront. After the trial, continued use of the Service requires a paid plan (for example monthly, yearly or lifetime) at the price shown when you subscribe.
- Web subscriptions are billed through Stripe. Subscriptions purchased in the iOS or Android app are billed and managed by Apple or Google, and are subject to their terms.
- Unless stated otherwise at purchase, subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each billing period until canceled. Cancel at least 24 hours before the renewal date to avoid being charged for the next period. Manage or cancel through your Cfluent account (web subscriptions) or your App Store or Google Play account (in-app subscriptions).
- Except where required by law or by the store policy that applies to your purchase, fees already paid are non-refundable.
- We may change prices with reasonable advance notice; changes apply from your next renewal.
4. Your content
You keep ownership of the content you provide to the Service, including text, profile information, contacts and images ("Your Content"). You grant us a limited, worldwide, non-exclusive license to host, process, transmit and display Your Content solely to operate, secure, support and improve the Service for you, as described in our Privacy Policy.
You are responsible for Your Content and for having the right to share it, including any information about other people (such as conversation partners) that you enter or capture through the microphone. Where laws require consent to record or transcribe conversations, it is your responsibility to comply with them.
5. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- use the Service in violation of any law or the rights of others;
- harass, threaten, defraud or impersonate others, or generate hateful, abusive or unlawful content;
- attempt to gain unauthorized access to the Service, other accounts or our systems, or interfere with or disrupt it;
- reverse engineer, scrape or abuse the Service or its APIs, or circumvent usage limits or security measures, except as allowed by an applicable open-source license;
- resell or provide the Service to third parties without our written permission;
- use the Service to train competing AI models.
6. AI-generated content
Suggestions are produced by artificial intelligence and may be incomplete, inaccurate or unsuitable for the situation. You are solely responsible for deciding whether to use, edit or speak any suggestion, and for what you communicate with the Service. Speech recognition may also contain errors.
7. Third-party services
The Service relies on third parties such as Google, Microsoft, Apple, Stripe, RevenueCat, Microsoft Azure and, optionally, ElevenLabs. Your use of those services may be subject to their own terms and privacy policies. We are not responsible for third-party services, and they may be unavailable or change without notice.
8. Intellectual property
The Service, including the Cfluent name, logo, design and software, is owned by Assistive Communication, LLC or its licensors and is protected by intellectual property laws. Subject to these Terms, we grant you a limited, revocable, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the Service for your personal or professional communication needs. Portions of the Cfluent source code may be published under an open-source license, which governs that code; these Terms govern your use of the hosted Service.
If you send us feedback or suggestions, you allow us to use them without obligation to you.
9. Privacy
Our Privacy Policy explains how we collect and use information, including information that may be sensitive such as health-related details you choose to provide. By using the Service you acknowledge that policy.
10. Suspension and termination
You may stop using the Service and delete your account at any time from within the App. We may suspend or terminate your access if you violate these Terms, if required by law, or to protect the Service or other users, and we will try to give notice when reasonable. Sections that by their nature should survive termination (including 4, 8, 11, 12, 13 and 14) will survive.
11. Disclaimers
To the fullest extent permitted by law, the Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free or secure, or that AI output or speech recognition will be accurate. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain disclaimers, so some of the above may not apply to you.
12. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Assistive Communication, LLC and its members, officers, employees and affiliates will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for loss of profits, data, goodwill or other intangible losses, arising from your use of the Service. Our total liability for any claim relating to the Service is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim or US$100. Nothing in these Terms excludes liability that cannot be excluded by law.
13. Indemnification
To the extent permitted by law, you will indemnify and hold harmless Assistive Communication, LLC from claims, damages and expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising from Your Content, your misuse of the Service or your breach of these Terms.
14. Governing law and disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, USA, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Any dispute that cannot be resolved informally will be brought in the state or federal courts located in Delaware, and you and we consent to their jurisdiction, except that mandatory consumer-protection laws of your place of residence continue to apply where they cannot be waived.
15. Changes to the Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. We will post the updated Terms with a new "Last updated" date and, for material changes, notify you in the App or by email. Continued use of the Service after the changes take effect means you accept them.
